City’s Title Deed-To-Door programme delivers to Delft beneficiaries

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and Councillor Carl Pophaim, Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements visited Delft to personally deliver title deeds to residents at their homes. The visit forms part of the Mayor’s Service Blitz initiative, which takes services directly to residents in various parts of the metro.
As part of the Mayoral Service Blitz initiative, the Human Settlement Directorate also hosted its roadshow in the area.
‘Our Human Settlements teams were out in full force to provide Delft residents with direct access to a wide range of housing and municipal services at our roadshow. We also delivered 91 title deeds to beneficiaries at their homes in the area.
‘Our Human Settlements roadshows bring together a number of line departments, creating a one-stop-shop platform where residents can engage directly with officials and receive assistance with housing related programmes and opportunities, among others. Our title deed handovers to beneficiaries also marked an important milestone for many families in the area.
‘The strong turnout and positive engagement with residents on the day underscores the importance of bringing our services closer to the people. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Delft roadshow, we will be returning to the area on 8 July 2026, to provide residents with another opportunity to access these services.
‘The City remains committed to improving our delivery and to ensuring that residents have access to the important information and assistance they need,' said Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim.
All Human Settlements line departments were present at the roadshow, enabling residents to access multiple services in one place, including:
- Housing Needs Register application enquiries
- C3 notifications and enquiries
- Public housing tenancy enquiries
- Affordable housing enquiries
- Municipal accounts enquiries
- Informal Settlements
- Homeownership
